What is HUMAC®?

HUMAC Ltd. is the producer of natural humic acids based products obtained from activated Leonardite intended for application for animals, agriculture and the environment. HUMAC® formulas are manufactured from one of the purest sources of Leonardite - a soft waxy brownish-black mineraloid located roughly 15 meters below the earth's surface. It is the result of a millions of years long humification process - the biochemical transformation of organic residues of primeval forests. It is the richest source of humic acids, its age is estimated around 30 million years.

Positive impacts of humic acids on animal health

Humic acids have been a topic of research for a few decades now, their positive effects on animal health have been well documented in numerous academic publications. Their positive impacts include and are not limited to the following benefits:
They bind different types of inorganic and organic toxins into stable insoluble complexes
removing them from the organism. Humic acids are ion exchangers and can release necessary microelements such as Fe, Cu, Co, Mn, Mo.
They can bind some viruses and prevent them from replicating.
They activate immunocompetent cells, thereby increasing the organism's defenses.
They activate the production of anti-inflammatory cytokines, which suppress inflammation.
They restore the electrolytic balance of cells (especially intestinal), thus protecting them from damage.
They support the development of beneficial microflora and suppress pathogenic and conditionally pathogenic microflora.

They have strong reducing properties, thus preventing undesired oxidation and the formation of free radicals, which they are able to eliminate.
They have a good buffering capacity, therefore they maintain a stable pH level in the gastrointestinal tract (GIT).
